CleanLock is built to respect your privacy. No accounts, no tracking inside the app. Here is exactly what is — and is not — collected.

Overview
CleanLock is a Mac menu bar utility by Akaya Labs that locks your keyboard and trackpad while you clean. Privacy is a core principle: the app collects no personal data, requires no account and contains no analytics.
Data the app collects
None. The app does not collect your name, email address, device identifiers, location or usage analytics, and it sends nothing to us.
Local storage only
CleanLock stores your preferences (unlock mode, duration, appearance, shortcut and reminder settings) and your cleaning stats on your Mac using standard macOS storage (UserDefaults). This data never leaves your Mac.
No special permissions
CleanLock needs no Accessibility or Input Monitoring permission. It locks with a full-screen overlay and never reads the content of your keystrokes. Cleaning reminders use standard macOS notifications, which you can allow or decline.
License activation (DMG copies)
If you bought the DMG, the app sends your license key and your Mac’s name to LemonSqueezy once to activate it, and later revalidates the key so refunded or deactivated licenses stop working. LemonSqueezy handles checkout and payment as the merchant of record under its own privacy policy. Mac App Store copies make no such request.
App Store purchases
If you buy CleanLock on the Mac App Store, Apple handles the transaction entirely. We receive no payment details, Apple ID information or other personal data about your purchase.
This website
cleanlock.app uses Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode. Until you accept the cookie banner, no analytics cookies are stored and advertising features stay disabled. If you accept, Google Analytics stores cookies to measure visits and page views; you can change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser. We do not sell data or use it for advertising.
Children's privacy
The app does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will post the new version at cleanlock.app/privacy and change the "Last updated" date. We will never add data collection to the app without clearly disclosing it here.
